Mom & Dad took me to see this big guy named Santa.  Apparently if you sit on his lap, pull his beard and smile really pretty for the camera he brings you lots of new toys.  I decided to one up the "being good" request and ham it up big time for the camera.  It was a hit!
The hardwood floors are hard and cold, so mom made this comfy soft play area for me & all my toys.  She says her house looks like a toy store now, but I wasn't a fan of that coffee table anyway.
One afternoon mom went to the laundry room and I decided to surprise her by being on all 4's when she walked in.  She was SO excited, but I played it cool.
I try really hard to pull myself up on the sofa, but can't do it by myself so mom is kind enough to stand me up there.  I love to just stand around and chat it up with mom and anyone she happens to be on the phone with.
Daddy had to work in Asheville a couple of days, so mom & I decided to go with him.  We went swimming and did lots of shopping, but it was COLD!
I went to visit Mamaw Dianne & Papaw Fred earlier this month and we decided to see what I'd look like if I had hair.  I think I look pretty darn good.
Sometimes there are just too many exciting things for me to take in during my day to waste time napping - that's what happened this day.  I decided not to nap all day, but when mommy was feeding me sweet potatoes at 6pm I couldn't take it anymore and fell asleep mid-bite.  Of course she thought it made for a perfect photo op...typical.
Now that I'm a big girl I love to play in my bedroom.  Notice I said play, not sleep.
Every Friday mommy & I meet a bunch of our friends to play.  Last Friday we spent the morning at the Children's Museum and it was so much fun!  I especially loved this rocking toy.  I sat on it and rocked myself until mommy made me share with some other kids.  I loved it!

I have TEETH!

After an agonizing couple of weeks, I finally got my very 1st tooth when I was 5 1/2 months old.  I feel like such a big girl now.  Mom said that she wasn't going to let people feed me "junk" at Thanksgiving so just to prove her wrong I decided I would grow some teeth - that way people will think I'm ready.  About a week after the 1st tooth came in a 2nd one followed.  Mom thinks the timing is funny & keeps singing "All I want for Christmas is my 2 front teeth" to me - it's getting old, fast.

Mom took me to have some Halloween Portraits done...here are a few sneak peaks that are borrowed from their website.  The photographer is obviously very talented and was a lot of fun to be around!  She even had a fuzzy boa for me to drool on.  I can't wait to go back and play again for my 6 month / Christmas portraits!
I wasn't even 5 months old in these pictures, but had pretty much mastered the art of sitting up.  Just to be careful though, mom was right under me with her arms open and that hyper-paranoid look she sometimes gets.

Can't wait to meet my friend, Elena Kate!

Mom, Molly & Brie threw a Baby Shower for Auntie Emily.  It was an exciting day to celebrate my new friend, Elena's, upcoming arrival.  I can't wait!  Here I am with Molly, Brie and my friend Caroline.  I'm a little jealous of her cute shoes :)
Mom and I were watching Emily open all her goodies.  Elena's going to have a lot of fun things to play with.  I'm hoping she'll share with me when I come to visit.
Mom always talks about these girls.  They were high school pals, roommates in college and still the best of friends.  They plan a lot of things for me, Elena and future kiddo's.  I love hanging out with Molly and Emily because they play itsy bitsy spider with me over and over.
What a pretty group of ladies!  Here I am with Emily, Molly and mom's friend Meagan.  She is a Carolina girl like the rest of us!
Here we are watching Emily open MORE presents for Elena.
This is the 3rd picture in a series of progression.  We're almost to the end...Elena will be here soon!  Then all the mommies will have beautiful little girls to hold!

Happy Halloween!

Halloween is apparently this day where mom's and dad's get a kick out of putting their babies in huge, uncomfortable costumes so everyone can laugh when they see them.  Or at least that's what my 1st Halloween was for me!   I was dressed as a skunk.  I'm not sure what that is, but mom kept calling me a little stinker all day so I'm not sure I want to be a skunk again.

This is me and my new friend Caroline.  She was born 2 months after me and her parents put some ridiculous costume on her as well.  She was a hot dog and her mommy and daddy were ketchup and mustard.  Those Johnson's are a clever crew.

We went to a Halloween party at Molly's house.  It was a lot of fun!  In fact, it was so much fun that I didn't go to sleep until 1am when the party was winding down.  Here I am playing with Emily and a really old Charlotte Hornets toy.

Mommy was "Little White Lies" but no one cared about her costume.  I stole the show, as usual.
Halloween morning mommy & daddy woke me up really early to go to the Pumpkin Patch.  It was really cold out so mom dressed me in 3 layers.  Daddy was picking on her, but I sure was warm and comfy!  After picking out the perfect pumpkin, we had story time then went on a hayride!  I loved the hayride through the woods.  Here I am checking it all out with dad.
Mommy said to pick out a little pumpkin, but daddy went for the big guys.
Every Wednesday morning mom and I go to the Library for story time with my friends.  I love it!  I get to sing songs, read books, chat with lots of people and show off my newly learned skills to my friends.  Here we are a couple of days before Halloween.
This is my friend Daniel.  He's 3 months older than me and we have the best time when we hang out.  We get to see each other several times a week and we both get really excited.  When we first met I was just a newborn and he wasn't even sitting up yet....look how big we are now!
This is typically what I look like at Story Time.  I have a lot to say.
